Description
The Barnevelder originates from 19th century Holland in the Barneveld region. They are docile, friendly, and make great community flock birds. Not only are they excellent foragers, but also very predator savvy. They are cold hardy but need shade in the hotter months. As adults they have a beautiful green shimmer throughout the body. On average their laying maturity is one month later than other breeds. Our Barnevelder are the double-laced partridge. Chicks are dark with lighter stripes down the back.
