Description
This breed is known for its exceptional feed conversion. The Leghorn is adaptive, disease resistant, and tolerates heat well. They are very active, flighty, and noisy. Their anxiousness allows them to avoid predators, and they are a non-setting bird. This breed thrives free range but performs poorly in cold environments due to their size. Our Brown Leghorn are single-combed and very colorful. Similar in appearance to Welsummers, mature Leghorns are distinguishable by their bigger comb and large white earlobes. Chicks are brown with yellow bellies and defined dark brown stripes down the back. They also have bright yellow legs.
