Description
The Buff Orpington Duck is a large calm, multi-purpose bird. Some prefer the Buff as a roasting duck because the feathers are easier to pluck than the white Pekins. Like the Pekin, they put on weight fast and are of butchering size at 8 to 10 weeks of age. They are friendly, curious birds that are relatively quiet for a duck. They are all temperature adaptive and good foragers. They can be semi-broody and make fair mothers. This breed is domestic meaning it cannot fly. All our ducks make great pets except the Mallard.
