Description
Embdens are the goose used predominantly throughout the world for meat production and are fast growing. They are a heavy weight goose as well as one of the tallest standing at 3.3ft on average. One of the oldest domestic goose breeds known, they are very hardy, cold hardy, and adapt to the heat well. They are good at foraging and when they mate, they do so for life. As goslings they have varying degrees of green/gray but as they mature turn solid white with vivid orange bills. They also have very distinct blue eyes. Embdens are the second to most calm goose breed we offer and cannot fly. All our geese make excellent “watch dogs” as they are keen at alerting you to predators as well as people. They are also all good at weeding.
