Description
Toulouse, originally bred in France, are one of the most popular barnyard geese because of the coloring and hardiness. They are also very good at hatching and raising their young. Getting sizable they can be used for butchering, but don’t produce a clean carcass like a white feathered breed. However, in France they still raise Toulouse for the force-fed liver that is revered for its smooth texture and taste. They are the calmest breed of goose we offer. All our geese make excellent “watch dogs” as they are keen at alerting you to predators as well as people. They are also all good at weeding and domestic meaning they cannot fly.
