Description
The White Chinese are a very graceful goose. They are noted for prolific egg production, fertility and foraging. It is not unusual for this breed to lay in the fall or winter. They are exceptional at weeding and commonly used for large commercial fields of cotton, mint and other crops. Derived from the wild Asiatic Swan goose, it is interesting to note that the Chinese has a raised knob while the prior does not. It is believed that during domestication it gained this feature. The knob is bright orange and soft to the touch. The birds themselves are solid white with orange legs closely resembling a swan. Like the African goose, White Chinese are very talkative amongst each other as well as with humans. The Chinese are the most aggressive breed of goose we offer. All our geese make excellent “watch dogs” as they are keen at alerting you to predators as well as people. They also are all domestic meaning they cannot fly.
