Description
Pekins are the most common duck and a very good dual- purpose bird. They are the primary used commercial meat duck in the United States as well as many other parts of the world. They are a fast growing, large framed, hardy breed that produce an easier to clean carcass than other ducks. Calm in nature, they have an excellent feed conversion ratio and are highly fertile. However, they are not very good natural sitters. An incubator is recommended for successful hatching. Pekins are domestic meaning they cannot fly. All our ducks can be kept as pets except the Mallard.
